Riley's Farm Reflection
One thing I enjoyed about while at Riley’s Farm was going to the court house. The judge was loud and funny. Also, I liked to make part of the blanket with the loom. Making the blanket was interesting.
Another thing I liked to do was earn the shillings. In the end I got 4 shillings and won the caramel apple. To earn the shillings you have to answer the questions that they give you.
Also, I liked to use the fake gun and defend the house. It was cool how they fired the black powder. Also, the colonists won the battle and everyone was celebrating. We won by killing all of the red team.
The final thing I enjoyed was playing the old sports. I liked this because I learned how to play some of the sports that the kids of that time played with their other friends. My favorite game was the baseball/cricket game where you hit the ball and the irst person to get it wins and gets to hit.
Causes of the American Revolution
One cause of the American Revolution was that England raised the taxes for the american colonists. Another cause were the acts passed by England. One act was the Quartering act. The Quartering act allowed any England solider to stay in an American Colonist's house and the people living there had to care for the person. After so many acts passed the colonists got angry and started fighting.
Intolerable Acts
What is this: The intolerable acts were laws passed by the British Parliament against the American Colonists. The Boston Port Act was the first act after the Boston Tea Party. The act didn’t let any ships out or in until the tea from the Boston Tea Party. Massachusetts Government Act gave more power to the British government and took away power from the colonists. The Administration of Justice Act gave more protection to the England Government some people called this the Murder Act because the colonists thought that England could get away with murder if they wanted to. The Quartering Act allowed any soldier to go and live in any of the colonists home and the colonists had to care for them. The Quebec act allowed England to expand their territory into Ohio. This contributes to the Revolutionary War because without the Intolerable Acts the colonists would not have stopped trading and buying from England. Because they stopped trading with England they got mad at the colonists which started the Revolutionary War.
Articles of Confederation
The articles of confederation were laws that were passed by each state. Each state had different laws. For example Massachusetts will have one type of money and Georgia would have a different type of money. You could only use one Georgia money in Georgia and Massachusetts money in Massachusetts. Some problems would be if you went to a different state and you brought money from your state you couldn't buy anything because you don't have the right kind of money. :(
